One Monday a month for 3 months; 6th March, 17th April & 15th May 2023 *1 place left

A slow stitch – hand stitch seasonal textile course.

Most of us have a large quantity of dyed and printed fabrics and threads and are not sure of what to do next with them. With the seasons and nature as a starting point, this course will guide you in using these fabrics to design a background of layered fabrics and print, along with hand stitch to hold the fabrics and create the surface detail. As you go along you decide what stitches to use to create a unique textile piece. This will be a slow stitching experience, learning new stitches or practising existing ones in a new way. An opportunity to slow down, take your time and enjoy the journey.

As you journey through the design process, you may discover that you don’t have a fabric or thread in the colour you need, so, throughout the course there will be an opportunity to dye small pieces of fabrics or threads for yourself using plant-based dyes, with Jo on hand to guide you in which dyes to use.
