Amazing Autumn: experimental day **full**

Saturday 3rd October 2020 10:00-16:00

An experimental day taking inspiration from nature and the time of year. Bring along some found leaves and ‘autumn treasure’ and we will use this for mark making, mono printing & geli plate printing. We will also experiment with rust dyeing. You’ll leave with a lovely collection of fabric samples to stitch into. £50 including most materials, and refreshments

Print your own: Lampshade and cushion


Friday 9th  October 2020 10:00-16:00

Another date added for this popular workshop. Join us for a fun day creating your bespoke lampshade and co-ordinating cushion cover. Perfect for all levels. You will learn how to fabric print using thermofax screens and wood printing blocks. You will have time to practice and plan your design before embarking on your final items, You will leave with both items ready to use. £65 including all materials.

Lovely Lanterns: Print and make **full**

Monday 12th October 2020 10:00-15:00

Join us for a relaxing day at the studio creating a pair of lovely lanterns. You will spend the morning printing your own fabric using thermofax screens as well as Indian wooden print blocks, then the best bits of your fabric will be used to create your lanterns. We will have time to add a bit of hand stitch along the way too!
When combined with a tea light or some fairy lights these lanterns give out a lovely glow... they would look lovely on an outdoor table in the Autumn too!
No experience necessary. No sewing involved. Additional lantern kits can be purchased.

Christmas textile tags

Monday 2nd November 2020 10:30-14:30

Join us at the studio to create a collection of beautiful textile tags, perfect for extra special Christmas cards or decorations. 

This workshop combines collage, stitch and embellishment. Bring along any of your own fabric cut off or take advantage of our collection of hand dyed and printed fabrics to create a fabric collage which we will then transform into tags, finally add embellishments such as buttons and words to make these extra special.  Own sewing machine required.

£45 including all materials and refreshments. 

Christmas block printing: tags wrap and Bags.

Saturday 7th November  2020 10:00-15:00

 Get crafty this Christmas by block printing your own tags, wrapping paper and gift bags. This will be a fun and relaxed workshop where you get to take advantage of our collection of festive wooden print blocks and stamps to create your own gift wrapping collection. Its eco friendly as all the items will be recyclable. 

You'll have the chance to print fabric or fabric items too...we have cushion covers, tea towels and fabric bags to choose from, or perhaps print fabric to make your own festive bunting. 

£55 to include a generous set of items to print and refreshments. 

Lino cut Christmas Cards 

Monday 9th November 2020 10:00-13:00

This Festive workshop is back. Join us to design, cut and print your own Christmas cards. This is perfect for beginners to lino cutting/printing- you will be given an introduction by Liske in order to get a feel for using the tools. You will then have time to work on your design before cutting into easy cut lino and finally you will print a set of Christmas cards to take away. Your lino is also yours to keep so that you can continue printing in your own time.

£35 including all materials and refreshments. 

Playing with print and dyes: two day course

Friday 29th January and Saturday 30th January 2021 10:00-15:00

Come and play with colour and print on this fun experimental two day workshop. Across the two days we will work with procion dyes in liquid and thickened form to add a range of colours to natural fabrics and threads. You will be able to dye a selection of shades in your chosen colours as well as some larger 'plough dyed' pieces of fabric. Thickened dyes will also be used to add print and pattern to your fabrics. You will master the art of thermofax screen printing and block printing, you'll even create your own block to print with.You will leave with a wonderful collection of fabrics to be used in future projects. 

£120 including dyes, fabric paint and refreshments.

Group size will be limited to 6 to allow for social distancing. 

Lantern/ lampshade: print and make

Thursday 11th February  2021 10:00-14:30

Join us for a relaxing day at the studio fabric printing and creating either a pair of lovely lanterns or your own bespoke lampshade.

You will spend the morning printing your own fabric using thermofax screens as well as Indian wooden print blocks, no experience necessary, you will be given tuition on both techniques. You will have plenty of fabric to work with and then pick the best bits to create your lantern/ lampshade.

When combined with a tea light or some fairy lights the lanterns give out a lovely glow, and the lampshades on offer are a 30cm drum style, a perfect update to any room..

No sewing involved.

Additional lantern/ lampshade kits can be purchased on the day.

£50 including all materials and refreshments. 

Group size will be limited to 6 to allow for social distancing. 

Textile Collage: Vase of  Flowers **one place left**

Saturday 13th March 2021 10:00-15:30

A new workshop for 2021.

Spend a colourful day at the studio creating a vibrant textile collage of your favourite vase of flowers, or pot of succulents.

Bring along a photo or image as inspiration and we will guide you through the process of creating your collage. We have a large collection of hand dyed and printed fabrics for you to use, and if you have any sentimental fabrics then bring these along to include (if you can bare to cut into them).

Sewing machine required and basic sewing experience.

Your finished piece will look great framed, or mounted on a canvas. 

£60 including most materials and refreshments. 

Introduction to Indigo Shibori

Thursday 15th April 2021 10:00-15:00

Come and experience the magic of Indigo dyeing in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside. You will spend the day experimenting with a variety of Shibori techniques to create a wonderful collection of fabrics to take away.

Bring along your own natural fabrics/ items or buy from us on the day. As well as fabrics we sell cushion covers, tableware, pashminas, canvas bags, which all dye beautifully. 

£50 including dye and refreshments. 

Forage Print Stitch  

Two day workshop

Friday 14th May and Saturday 15th May 2021 10:00-15:30

We love this mixed media workshop so much we're bringing it back as a two day course. 

We will begin by exploring the surrounding countryside for wildflowers and leaves. These found treasures will then be your source of inspiration for the day....we will monoprint, gelli print, sun print and more onto both papers and cloth.

One the second day we will spend time collaging together some of your favourite pieces before adding a layer of hand stitch.  

£120 including most materials and refreshments.

Indigo Summer School 

Thursday 15th/ Friday 16th and Saturday 17th July 2021

If like us you think that one day playing with Indigo isn't enough then this  3-day course is for you...
Come and experience the magic of indigo dyeing in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside . You will spend two days experimenting with a variety of Shibori folding and stitching techniques to create beautifully patterned fabrics, we will also explore over-dyeing coloured and printed fabrics, as well as using wax as a resist.

You will have the opportunity to add print on the final day and expore ways to use your fabric to create a small hanging or runner

£180 including dye, and refreshments. Bring along your own natural fabrics. 


Littleheath Barn Studio reserves the right to cancel a workshop, should we need to we will give as much notice as possible and will either refund your payment in full or offer an alternative date/workshop.

If you need to cancel please contact us at your earliest convenience and we will do our best to find an alternative workshop for you. Should you cancel within two weeks of the workshop date, payment is however non refundable unless your place can be filled, in which case we will refund your payment or book you onto another workshop.
